Black holes in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar theories arise as solution of the equations of motion and experiment a peculiar phenomenon called attractor mechanism. N=2 four-dimensional supergravity is a theory of that kind and thanks to the special property of the scalar manifold the differential equations for the evolutions of the fields can be solved by the use of different techniques. In this talk we will review the basics of this arguments and discuss the recent developments in the pursuit of black hole solutions.
